Dennis E. Carley is an experienced trial lawyer who has been a partner in the firm since 1990. He has a varied and broad practice that includes business, commercial, tort, medical malpractice, products liability and employment litigation, primarily representing defendants. He joined the firm in 1985, and has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts in medical malpractice, personal injury, psychiatric malpractice and commercial trials.
His clients include individuals, partnerships, local companies and large national corporations. Other areas of his practice include contract litigation, construction litigation and partnership disputes.
He has been active in the Rhode Island Bar Association, serving on its Insurance, Medical Malpractice and Superior Court Bench/Bar Committees. Mr. Carley belongs to the American Bar Association where he is a member of the Litigation section.
Mr. Carley received his Bachelor’s Degree magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island and is a cum laude graduate of Capital University where he was an articles editor of the Law Review. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the Ohio State University, and was a practicing clinical psychologist for five years before becoming an attorney. He served as law clerk to the Honorable Thomas F. Kelleher, Associate Justice, Rhode Island Supreme Court, before joining the firm in 1985.
