Edward G. Avila has been with Roberts, Carroll, Feldstein & Peirce Incorporated since 1987 and a shareholder of the firm since 1993. As part of a wide ranging corporate practice, he has considerable experience in commercial, real estate and general business transactions.

He has extensive experience in representing financial institutions in commercial loan transactions and debtor creditor rights. His representation includes nearly all of the financial institutions conducting commercial transactions in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Such transactions include simple and complicated real estate transactions, business acquisitions and refinancings. He also represents small businesses in financing, acquisition and any and all other business related services.

Edward G. Avila has represented quasi-governmental agencies in collection actions including foreclosures, bankruptcies and workouts. He has also represented nearly all of the local financial institutions in these same areas. His knowledge of the workout and collection activity gives him an excellent perspective in handling commercial lending transactions for financial institutions and borrowers.

Edward G. Avila is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in the States of Rhode Island and Massachusetts and the Federal District Courts of these States. He is a member of the Debtors/Creditors Rights Section of the Rhode Island Bar Association. He is author of "Option Agreements and Related Due Diligent Issues," Construction Renovation Formbook, 1991. He is a member of the Board of the Newman YMCA and the Greater Providence YMCA and an active member of the Swansea Little League and Swansea Youth Soccer Associations.

Mr. Avila received his Bachelors Degree in economics (summa cum laude) from Providence College (1984) and his law degree from Boston College Law School (cum laude) (1987).
